It was a slow Wednesday afternoon. The clouds began their cry over the city of Long Beach. Lunch time had passed and our food had been digested. Energy was at an extreme low.
Kat began her sluggish walk towards the break room in hopes of finding something to re-energize her. She opened the fridge, a cool blast of air hit her causing goosebumps to erect. She searched high and low in hopes of finding a single treat that could give her a reason to smile again. Nothing. She gave up the search, because quite frankly she didn't have the energy, and headed out the door.
Dan noticed that she looked cold and pale (kind of like Edward Cullen) and being the Superman that he is, came to the rescue.
"You ok?" SuperDan asked?
"huh? oh... Yeah, just tired."
"You want a cookie?" Danger suggested.
Kat looked at him with a twinkle in her eye, kind of like when you give a homeless guy a $20 bill instead of the normal spare change you greedily offer. "Why sure. A cookie sounds... perfect."
Dan opened his desk drawer and the golden aura of sweet delacacies lit the room. Girlscout cookies in mint condition, chocolate chip cookies of enormous size. It was as if Kat looked up through the clouds and caught a glimpse of heaven.
Kat helped herself to two Chocolate Chip cookies as her and Dan discussed life's many ventures. She was re-energized and went about her work faster than usual. It wasn't until later that they realized that Cookie Time was in fact something more than just eating cookies. It was a time of rejuvination and intellectual conversation. It was 4:15 Cookie Time.
